An extraordinary exhibition, carnival and lampions marked the end of our Summer Camp

An extraordinary exhibition ended our Summer Camp “Education through creativity” for children from unprivileged families coming from both sides of the Nistru River.  The exhibition reflected the very good results achieved by all participants at the Camp – the children, the volunteers and teachers, who all demonstrated great creativity, enthusiasm and dedication. For many of these children this event was the first time they had the opportunity to go for holidays outside of their home town or village.

The working process in the workshops from Speia village, Grigoreopol

At 12 July 2014 our team visited Speia village, Grigoreopol region, to see how the children from the 3 creative workshops established by AO Filocalia at the local school are doing. The workshops were created in March and April this year thanks to the project „Trust through education”, implemented in partnership with AO “Надежда и будущее” and with the assistance of the Program EU-UNDP “Support to Confidence Building Measures” with the main goal of promoting trust through education among children and young people from both banks of Nistru River.

Resting productively our volunteers planned the upcoming campaign

On June 28, about 25 Filocalia volunteers met in the „Rose Valley” park. The purpose of the meeting was to plan the 4-th edition of the major annual AO Filocalia campaigns -“Help the school bell ring for every child”. Its goal is a noble one – to help as many children from poor families to go to school by providing backpacks and school supplies they lack and need. Therefore, the active involvement of volunteers is crucial to the success of the event.
