After 2 weeks of recruitment, PO “Filocalia” has chosen candidates for a two-day training entitled “Aspects of involving volunteers in a social service”. The training for volunteers took place on 2nd and 3rd of March 2013. President of the organization, Mrs. Larisa Ciobanu, greeted everyone and gave each one a “martisor” – the symbol of spring and of a new beginning and PR manager of the organization, Corina Ersov, made an overview of the activities undertaken by “Filocalia”. During the first day, the coach Natalia Matei has organized games of knowledge, practical and theoretical training, self-knowledge tests, energizing moments and group work. The same day those present at the event had the opportunity to see the organization’s headquarters.

The second day was held at the Community Center for children and youth with physical disabilities and has had several purposes, including: acquaintance between the already existing volunteers of the organization and the new members; moments of ludotherapy, practical and group work, team building, and a representation of social theater in preventing discrimination against children with disabilities and their social inclusion (presented by Keystone Moldova in partnership with CCCY). At the end of the day, because the training coincided with the birthday of our new collaborator, Veronica Lupacescu, a little performance was organized as a surprise. Then, according to tradition, everyone present was served with cake and champagne.

According to the feedback received from those present, we have concluded that the training was a success and motivated the participants to become volunteers of the organization. Awarding certificates of participation coincided with several volunteers’ speeches, confessing that they have spent with “Filocalia” two unforgettable days and are looking forward to participate in charitable activities of the association.
