A lot of people from all over the world are dedicating their time, knowledge, energy and talent to noble causes, taking initiatives in favor of the community. The international volunteers can choose a field they like and help vulnerable people, contributing in this way to the social development, level of education from some countries and also to cultural exchange of experience between countries. We are glad that many of these people choose Moldova as destination and are very active here.

The first interaction of PO ”Filocalia” with the international volunteers took place in summer 2012, within the Campaign “Help the school bell to ring for every child”, second edition, when a few international volunteers, together with the local young people, have organized a festive event for the beneficiaries of the campaign. During the event we were proud to have near very active volunteers from: Great Britain, Slovacia, Greece, Germany, Spain, Bolivia, Belgium, Poland, and Japan.

Those who got in contact with PO ”Filocalia” and its activities, told us that the opportunity to be an international volunteer has a lot of benefits for each person. Joanna Czerniak, a lovely lady from Poland, was happy to have this experience together with „Filocalia” during 2 months, mentioning that she would any time use this opportunity again with great pleasure.

In our country, Joanna has chosen to interact with children from socially vulnerable families within 2 very important events. From the first days after her arrival to Moldova, she was present at our summer camp organized for 32 children, where she have participated to educational activities and also had fun with the kids. Then she got involved in the Campaign “Help the school bell to ring for every child”, 4 edition, helping us in our trip to Comrat, where we have together evaluated the situation of the beneficiary families. Joanna helped us to make the handmade cards and invitations and all other tools for our campaign and she also dressed like Pinocchio and after the event helped us deliver the collected goods to the poor children.

This is what Joanna says:”In my opinion, international voluntary service is a great point in our life. We can know new people, culture, conquer new experience, be more self-confident, the best adventure. Thanks for everybody and for everything. These two months were amazing!  I’m glad I was here!”

PO ”Filocalia” is very happy to receive any time everybody who wants to get involved in our activities and to develop their volunteering capacities.
